The dental implant process

The first step is an initial assessment appointment where your dentist will determine whether Dental Implants are the most appropriate treatment for you. We will take x-rays and the process will be explained to you along with the results you can expect to see. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and raise any areas of concern you may have. If dental implants are right for you then we will create detailed treatment plan.

The treatment itself requires several appointments. During the first surgical procedure, the titanium screw is fitted to the jaw. After this new implant has been allowed to successfully fuse with the bone, another appointment is made for the crown (the visible part of the tooth) to be fitted. Once the new tooth is complete we also schedule further appointments to check the area has healed correctly.
